Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday cautioned people to be aware of some vested interests threatening them with false cases by impersonating as ACB officers.

"It has come to the notice of the ACB Headquarters here that some unidentified individuals calling the government offices and officials, falsely posing themselves as ACB officers They are threatening the officials by claiming that they are calling from the ACB office and that several complaints have been received against them," an official release stated.

They further stating that an ACB raid is going to be conducted and to stop the raid, they are demanding money and directing to send it to a particular mobile number or hand it over to a person in cash who will come to collect it.

In some other instances, these individuals are threatening officials by saying that an ACB case has been registered against them and that, to avoid arrest, they must pay the demanded amount.

The ACB Headquarters made it clear that no officer of the Anti-Corruption Bureau makes such phone calls or demands money under any circumstances

Therefore, all government officials are advised to remain vigilant and cautious about such fake calls. If anyone receives such threatening or fraudulent calls, they are requested to immediately lodge a complaint with the local police or at the ACB Toll-Free Number 1064
