Dressed in a simple white dhoti-kurta and cap, the elderly couple entered the store, initially mistaken by the shop owner for people seeking help. But the man’s sincere intention to purchase jewelry for his wife soon moved the jeweller deeply.
The couple selected a necklace and a mangalsutra, and the man offered ₹1,120 in cash. However, touched by their genuine love and devotion, the jeweller accepted only ₹20, waiving the rest of the amount as a kind gesture.
The couple, who live independently and travel together after the passing of their eldest son, have inspired thousands online.
