The operational crisis of IndiGo made it very hard to travel to and from Hyderabad on Saturday when Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) witnessed the cancellation of 69 flights. The airport authorities informed that the cancellation of 26 incoming flights and 43 departures resulted in the situation where many passengers did not have any means to go home and the situation was complaints all over the place.
IndiGo’s CEO Pieter Elbers acknowledged the severity of the situation, stating that restoring punctuality and normal operations will be “far from an easy target.” The airline has informed authorities that full operational stability is expected only by February 10, 2026.
IndiGo has made a decision to cut its daily flight operations, commencing from December 8, to reduce further disruptions in light of the possibility of more cancellations in the coming days.
