This Diwali turned truly special for an 11-year-old boy from Ludhiana, who has become a millionaire overnight after winning ₹1 crore in the Punjab State Dear Diwali Bumper 2025 lottery. The grand draw, held in Ludhiana, distributed prizes worth over ₹36 crore, making it one of the state’s biggest festive lotteries this year.

Aarav’s Lucky Win

The young winner, Aarav, originally from Hoshiarpur, currently lives with his maternal uncle Karan in Haibowal, Ludhiana. Karan, who works in property dealing, revealed that the life-changing win happened thanks to Aarav’s persistence.

“We were passing by the Clock Tower area when Aarav suddenly said, ‘Uncle, I want to win the lottery!’ He was so insistent that we ended up buying five tickets from Gandhi Brothers. The last one turned out to be the lucky ticket,” Karan said with a smile.

The winning ticket — A 438586 — was sold at the well-known Gandhi Brothers lottery shop in Ludhiana.

When Karan saw their ticket number appear during the live draw at 8 PM on YouTube, he could hardly believe his eyes. Within moments, their neighborhood erupted in joy. The sound of dhol, the distribution of sweets, and cheerful dancing filled the streets, marking a Diwali they would never forget.
