Gold futures declined Rs165 to Rs65,730 per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators reduced their positions. Silver futures rose Rs90 to Rs75,260 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold contracts for April delivery traded lower Rs165 or 0.25 per cent at Rs65,730 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 15,945 lots. Analysts attributed the fall in gold prices to weak global cues. Globally, gold was trading 0.39 per cent lower at $2,172.20 per ounce in New York.
