A high-level delegation from Nepal and a business delegation from Russia visited Visakhapatnam Port separately to explore strengthening bilateral trade.

An official of the port said Nepal delegation was led by Anil Kumar Sinha, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, accompanied by Bipeen Acharya, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies and Tarka Raj Bhatta, Under Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies. Additionally, an 11-member business delegation from Russia also visited the port.

Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) officials extended a warm reception to both the Nepalese delegation and the Russian business team. During the visit, the teams were briefed on the port’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, cargo handling capabilities, modernization and mechanization initiatives, covered storage facilities, solar power generation projects, and the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) water recycling system used for industrial applications.

Discussions also explored investment opportunities and possible avenues to enhance import–export activities through Visakhapatnam Port.
