On Tuesday, November 4, the Indian stock market saw a downward closure, with profits being booked against a backdrop of weak international sentiments. The Sensex declined by 519 points or 0.62% to finish at 83,459.15, while the Nifty 50 lost 166 points or 0.64% to 25,597.65. The broader indices were also down, with the BSE Midcap down by 0.26% and the Smallcap index lower by 0.69%.

According to Bajaj Broking Research, “Weak global sentiment and profit booking during the weekly expiry dragged markets lower. Despite short-term volatility, India’s strong macro fundamentals — backed by a robust manufacturing PMI and healthy GST collections — indicate sustained growth momentum.”

Here are the top stocks likely to be in focus today, November 6:

1. Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), Ola Electric, Apollo Hospitals, Lupin, MCX

These companies will remain in focus as they are scheduled to announce their Q2 FY26 earnings today. Investors will closely watch profit trends and management outlooks amid mixed global cues.

2. Paytm

Fintech major Paytm reported a sharp 98% decline in consolidated net profit to ₹21 crore for Q2 FY26, compared to ₹928 crore in the same quarter last year. The stock is likely to react negatively amid rising investor concerns over profitability.

3. National Stock Exchange (NSE)

The NSE reported a total income of ₹4,160 crore for Q2 FY26, with profit after tax up 16% sequentially. For H1 FY26, PAT grew 11% year-on-year, and the EBITDA margin remained robust at 77%, reflecting operational efficiency.

4. Indian Hotels Company

Indian Hotels posted a 48.6% year-on-year decline in net profit to ₹285 crore for Q2 FY26, after adjusting for a one-time gain recorded in the previous year. The drop came despite steady occupancy and growth in domestic travel.

5. Grasim Industries

Grasim Industries reported a 76% jump in consolidated net profit at ₹553.48 crore for Q2 FY26, up from ₹314.63 crore last year, supported by strong performance across key business segments.

6. IndiGo (InterGlobe Aviation)

Aviation leader IndiGo slipped into the red, reporting a loss of ₹2,582 crore in the September quarter, compared to a profit of ₹2,176 crore in Q1 FY26. Rising fuel costs and currency volatility weighed on its margins.

7. Hindalco Industries

Subsidiary Novelis said its free cash flow for the fiscal year is expected to drop by $550–650 million after a fire incident at its New York plant in September. The news could pressure Hindalco’s stock in early trade.

8. Adani Ports and Adani Energy Solutions

Fitch Ratings has upgraded its outlook on both Adani Ports and SEZ and Adani Energy Solutions from ‘Negative’ to ‘Stable’, citing improved financial stability and reduced contagion risks across the Adani Group.

9. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)

TCS announced the renewal of its 18-year partnership with ABB, aimed at enhancing the Swiss engineering firm’s digital infrastructure and integrating AI-driven IT operations. The deal strengthens TCS’s position in the global IT services market.

10. Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M)

Reports suggest Mahindra & Mahindra plans to sell its entire 3.45% stake in a private bank via a block deal worth $78 million (₹682 crore) at a floor price of ₹317 per share. The transaction could attract short-term market attention.

Market Outlook:

On slow cues and earnings announcements, analysts expect Indian equities to open cautiously. Unprecedented will be the volatility as investors track crude prices, FII flows, and global economic data ahead of the weekend.
