The Indian stock market is trading flat in early trade on Tuesday, with the Sensex hovering around 82,260 and the Nifty 50 steady near 25,200.

Weakness in media, pharma, consumer durables, PSU banks, and telecom (each down around 0.5%) offset modest gains in energy, metals, and oil & gas stocks.

Major gainers on the Nifty include ONGC, HCL Technologies, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, and Bharat Electronics, while Dr Reddy’s Labs, Maruti Suzuki, Axis Bank, Tata Motors, and Bajaj Finance are among the top laggards.

Midcap and smallcap indices are also trading marginally lower, reflecting cautious investor sentiment.

Tata Chemicals Rises 3% — Best in 11 Weeks

Tata Chemicals gained over 3% to ₹939.70, hitting its highest level in nearly three months. The stock traded with volumes 52% higher than its 5-day average.

It’s currently 24% below its 52-week high of ₹1,244.70 and 24% above its low of ₹756.45, with a market cap of ₹23,939 crore.

Brokerage Update | Nuvama Cuts Target for Just Dial

Nuvama Institutional Equities has retained a ‘Buy’ rating on Just Dial but trimmed its target price to ₹1,200 after a weak Q2 performance.

The brokerage cited higher employee and ad expenses that impacted margins, reducing FY26/FY27 EPS estimates by up to 5.8%.

Prestige Group Launches ₹2,000 Cr Housing Project in Mumbai

Prestige Group has launched its new residential project — Prestige Garden Trails — at Dahisar–Mira Road, Mumbai.

The 5.2-acre project offers 1,324 residential units with a Gross Development Value (GDV) of around ₹2,000 crore and 1 million sq. ft. carpet area.

Currency Check | Rupee Trades Weaker at 88.78

The Indian rupee is trading slightly lower at ₹88.78 per US dollar, compared to Monday’s close of ₹88.67.

Oil India Ltd has signed a 15-year Gas Sale and Purchase Agreement with NEEPCO, ensuring the supply of 1.4 MMSCMD of gas to its Assam power plant. The company also completed upgrades to the Numaligarh–Siliguri Product Pipeline, tripling its capacity to 5.5 MMTPA.

Tata Motors PV Business Lists at ₹400 per Share

Following its demerger, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd listed on the NSE at ₹400 per share.
