Sensex up 270 pts, Nifty Trades Near 24,250; Adani Ports, Trent, Shriram Finance, Bajaj Finserv Among Top Gainers

The Indian benchmark indices are trading in green in today’s trading session. As of 11:40 am, Sensex is up 0.34% at 80,776.38, while Nifty is trading at 24,450.50, up 0.43%.

Shares of Adani Ports, Trent, Shriram Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Eternal are the major gainers on the Nifty, while laggards include Kotak Mahindra Bank, SBI, ONGC, JSW Steel, Dr Reddy's Labs. All sectoral indices are trading in green, except bank, while auto, telecom, FMCG, Oil & Gas are up 1% each. Meanwhile, BSE midcap and smallcap indices are up by 0.5 each.

Jefferies maintained a ‘hold’ rating on Avenue Supermarts, the parent company of D-Mart, by cutting the target price to ₹4,100 from ₹4,225. DMart reported a consolidated net profit of ₹551 crore in Q4FY24, down 2% YoY. CLSA downgraded Kotak Mahindra Bank to ‘hold’ from ‘outperform’. The brokerage increased the target price to ₹2,225 from ₹2,125.
