Q2 Earnings Today: HUL, Colgate Palmolive, PTC India & More to Announce Q2 Results

As Q2 earnings season gains momentum post-Diwali 2025, several major companies are scheduled to release their quarterly results today. Analysts expect a positive shift in earnings growth for many firms with the onset of Samvat 2082, although some companies, including Hindustan Unilever (HUL), may see a temporary slowdown due to GST rate changes and weak demand.
According to Dr. VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Investments, India’s earnings growth underperformed in FY25, falling to 5% from an average of 24% over the previous three years. “In the long run, the market is a slave to earnings,” he said, noting that future trends will depend on earnings recovery.
Market Sentiment Ahead of Q2 Results
The domestic benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty 50, are anticipated to open up on Thursday mainly owing to the expectations of a possible India-US trade deal. GIFT Nifty futures witnessed a rise by 363 points and were trading at 26,267.
Though still weak, global markets are ever so slightly better—in Asia, only a few stocks are showing losses because of the ongoing US-China trade dispute; the leading index of Japan, Nikkei 225, lost 0.1%, Hong Kong’s index, Hang Seng, fell by 0.22% and the South Korean index, KOSPI, declined by 0.09%. In the US, the stock market was lower at close because of the mixed earnings results among corporations and the persisting fears over the government shutdown: Nasdaq -0.9%, Dow -0.7%, and S&P -0.5%.

Hindustan Unilever (HUL) Q2 Outlook
Analysts anticipate subdued performance for HUL in the September quarter, citing:
GST rate reductions affecting product pricing
Weak consumer demand
Inventory destocking impacting sales volumes
Prolonged monsoon affecting FMCG consumption
Kotak Equities predicts flat or low single-digit growth in underlying volumes, with a 0.5% rise in sales offset by 7.6% decline in PAT due to lower other income and operating leverage.
Nuvama Securities expects flat volumes, a 1% revenue increase, and a 5% YoY decline in EBITDA, with gross margins projected to fall by 159 basis points to ~50% because of price reductions passed to consumers.
Analysts note these short-term weaknesses are likely temporary, with a rebound expected in upcoming quarters as the GST transition stabilizes and consumption recovers.
