Zee Entertainment Enterprises posted a net profit of ₹144 crore in the first quarter of FY26, up 22% YoY, against ₹118 crore in the corresponding quarter a year earlier.
Total income came at ₹1,849.8 crore, down from ₹2,149.5 crore during the same period a year ago. Advertising revenue also took a massive hit, sliding about 16.7% in Q1FY25 at ₹758.5 against ₹911.3 crore in the same period a year ago.
Subscription revenue came marginally lower at ₹981.7 crore versus ₹987.2 crore in Q1 FY24.
Analysts predicted a 13% decline in advertising revenues, which came at ₹792.4 crore in Q1. As per experts, Q1 remained weak due to a shift to IPL (Indian Premier League)-led ads. Additionally, the company continued to witness weak ad volume demand.
Shares of the company slumped by 6.23% to close at ₹133 in today’s trading session.
