Massive edtech player PhysicsWallah Ltd made a magnificent appearance on Indian exchanges on Tuesday as its shares saw stunning premium rates at both NSE and NSE. The IPO, launched on November 13, witnessed tremendous investor appetite and provided a better-than-expected show on listing day.

Excellent stock performance

PhysicsWallah shares started trading on NSE at ₹145 after shares issued at an issue price of ₹109, registering a premium of 33.03%. On the BSE, the stock started at ₹143.10 telling the premium of 31% on the issue price. The welcoming debut stands as the strong faith of investors in the rising hybrid model and recall of the brand of this edtech company.

IPO Details

The IPO, open from November 11 to 13, was subscribed 1.81 times. The company raised ₹3,480.71 crore, comprising:

Fresh issue: 28.45 crore shares worth ₹3,100.71 crore

Offer for sale (OFS): 3.49 crore shares totaling ₹380 crore

The IPO price band was set at ₹103–₹109 per share. Analysts had predicted a listing premium of around 13%, but the stock far exceeded expectations.

Market Reaction & Performance

Shortly after listing, PhysicsWallah shares surged over 4% above their debut price, and more than 37% above the issue price. On the BSE, the stock hit an intraday high of ₹162.05, marking a 48.66% jump from its IPO price. The company's market cap crossed ₹42,000 crore following the strong debut.

Market experts remain cautiously optimistic.

Allottees may consider booking partial profits while holding the remaining shares for medium-term gains, with a recommended stop loss at ₹130.
