During Friday's final trading session on April 25 the Sensex dropped 588.90 points to finish at 79,212.53 representing a 0.74% loss while the Nifty lost 207.35 points ending at 24,039.35 which was a 0.86% decline.

US markets
The S&P 500 rose 0.74% to reach 5,525.21 while the Nasdaq Composite increased 1.26% to settle at 17,282.94 as Wall Street finished the week on an upswing. The Dow Jones Industrial Average experienced a small increase that pushed it 20 points up to 40,113.50 despite trailing behind.
US dollar
The US Dollar Index (DXY) declined by 0.07% to reach 99.65 against six major currencies on Monday morning. The basket includes currencies such as the British Pound along with the Euro Swedish Krona Japanese Yen Swiss Franc and others.
Crude oil
Early Monday trading saw both major crude oil benchmarks advance slightly. WTI crude increased by 0.29% to reach $63.20 per barrel while Brent crude gained 0.24% to reach $67.03.
FII, DII data
Foreign investors sustained their purchase streak for an eighth straight day by buying shares worth Rs 2,952 crore on April 25. Domestic investors resumed their buying activity as they acquired shares worth Rs 3,540 crore.
Gold rate today
Gold prices showed some signs of easing. The price of 10 grams of 24 Karat gold remained at around Rs 99,000 on Sunday after falling nearly Rs 1,000 since last week.

From April 28 onwards shares of HCL Tech, Tanla Platforms and 360 ONE WAM will enter ex-dividend trading status. Several stocks will become ex-bonus within the week which emphasizes the necessity for shareholders to monitor critical dates.
