The Karachi stock exchange fell by 9% today, following which the training activity was halted for 60 minutes. The last traded price came at 1,16,650.

The rally comes after India and Pakistan decided to observe a ceasefire on Saturday and the International Monetary Fund’s approval to disburse $2.4 billion under its economic reform and climate resilience programmes.

The equities market in the country remained volatile as India conducted Operation Sindoor, which targeted nine terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Sensex surged over 2,722.48 points or 3.42% to an intraday high of 82,176.95, while Nifty climbed 845.75 points or 3.52 at 24,853.75.
