The Asia-Pacific markets rallied today as trade discussions between the US and China kept an optimistic momentum. However, the deal awaits a go-ahead from the leaders of both the counterparts.

“We have reached a framework to implement the Geneva consensus and the call between the two presidents,” Lutnick told reporters.

The talks continued for the second-consecutive day in London on Tuesday. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said he was departing the ongoing trade talks but Lutnick and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer would remain to continue the negotiations, which can extend to Wednesday.

China’s CSI 300 index surged 0.77%%, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index was up by 0.9%.

Japan’s Nikkei 225 went up by 0.45% while the broader Topix index was flat.

South Korea’s Kospi index added 0.71%%, nearing its highest level in 42 months in the early session.

Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 surged by 0.29%, while Nifty 50 opened with a gain of 0.11%.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average went up by 105.11 points, or 0.25% to close at 42,866.87. The S&P 500 rose 0.55% to settle at 6,038.81. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite soared 0.63% to close at 19,714.99.
