Jhunjhunwala makes Rs 101 cr in short Muhurat session
Hyderabad The recently concluded muhurat trading session gave a massive boost to the ace investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala's portfolio. He made a whopping Rs 101 crore from five stocks in his portfolio in the muhurat trading session on Diwali day this year. As the market zipped ahead during the session, the big bull got strong returns from a number of stocks. Indian Hotels was one of the top gainers in Jhunjhunwala's portfolio, gaining a good 6 per cent in just one-hour session. Besides the Indian Hotels stocks, Tata Motors also recorded excellent rise in the short session adding to the billionaire investor's portfolio.
Tata motors share price added 1 per cent gains this muhurat trading session, to close the day at Rs 490.05 per share. Rakesh owns 3.67 crore shares of the automotive giant. The value of Tata Motors' shares in Jhunjhunwala's portfolio was Rs 1,783 crore before the muhurat trade. This rose by Rs 17.82 crore during the special session to close at Rs 1,800 crore. Tata Motors share price has increased 162 per cent so far this year.
Indian Hotels' share price zoomed 5.95 per cent during the muhurat session to close at Rs 215.45 apiece. The value of Indian Hotels' stocks was Rs 507.70 crore on Wednesday, however, in the muhurat session, the value moved up Rs 31.13 crore at Rs 538.84 crore.
Rating and research agency Crisil's share price went up 2 per cent during the muhurat trading session. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala owns 39.75 crore equity shares of the company, the value of the stock with him stood at Rs 1,144 crore at the end of the session, going up from Rs 1,123 crore on Wednesday. This translates to a Rs 21.72 crore gain for the big bull.
With Escorts also joining the bandwagon of the rising stocks, the big bull pocketed Rs 18.11 crore more. The stock price increased 2 per cent and the value of the stock in The gaming and hospitality stock The Delta Corp stock gained 3.3 per cent adding Rs 18 crore more to Rakesh's portfolio.
The big bull also made Rs 12.6 crore from his. during the muhurat trading session, with the value of the stock in big bull portfolio going to Rs 563.40 crore from Rs 550.80 crore on Wednesday.
