Visakhapatnam: IndiGo will operate a one-stop flight from Visakhapatnam to Ahmedabad with a brief stopover at Nagpur from March 28.
"With vaccine roll-out gaining pace, more airlines are showing interest to increase connectivity with Visakhapatnam. The number of flights is increasing very fast," Tours and Travel Association of Andhra (TTAA) president K Vijay Mohan told Bizz Buzz on Monday.
He said Go Air for the first time will link Visakhapatnam International Airport by introducing a flight to Delhi and Benaguluru. The first flight is expected to be launched by month-end.
Vijay Mohan said SpiceJet is also in the process of increasing its connectivity to Delhi, Hyderabad and Benguluru. With the Covid-19 forcing people to observe social distancing and personal hygiene, more people are finding it convenient to fly.
"There is already phenomenal growth in flights and we expect this to grow further in the coming days," he said. Visakhapatnam International Airport has connectivity to Chicago in the United States and Dubai with a one stopover at Hyderabad.
