The stock market witnessed a strong rally last week. All of the top 10 listed companies saw an increase in their market capitalization, with HDFC Bank and Bharti Airtel emerging as the biggest gainers. Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries also ended the week on a positive note.

Share Market Performance

Last week, the BSE Sensex rose by 3,395.94 points or 4.51%, while the NSE Nifty gained 1,023.1 points or 4.48%. The combined market capitalization of the top 10 Sensex-listed companies increased by ₹3,84,004.73 crore during the week. Despite the reduced number of trading sessions due to holidays, the stock market maintained a bullish trend, led by HDFC Bank and Bharti Airtel.

During this period, HDFC Bank’s market valuation jumped by ₹76,483.95 crore, reaching ₹14,58,934.32 crore — the highest among all companies.

Market Experts’ Take

Ajit Mishra, Senior Vice President of Research at Religare Broking, stated that the market witnessed a sharp recovery last week, rising over 4.5%. He attributed the surge to postponed tariff hikes and recent discounts offered on select products, which provided a boost to investor sentiment.

Major Beneficiaries

Bharti Airtel: Market cap increased by ₹75,210.77 crore, reaching ₹10,77,241.74 crore.

Reliance Industries: Gained ₹74,766.36 crore, taking its valuation to ₹17,24,768.59 crore.

ICICI Bank: Market value rose by ₹67,597 crore to ₹10,01,948.86 crore.

State Bank of India (SBI): Added ₹38,420.49 crore, with a total market cap of ₹7,11,381.46 crore.

Meanwhile:

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) gained ₹24,114.55 crore, with its market cap reaching ₹11,93,588.98 crore.

Bajaj Finance added ₹14,712.85 crore to reach ₹5,68,061.13 crore.

ITC saw a rise of ₹6,820.2 crore, closing at ₹5,34,665.77 crore.

Infosys added ₹3,987.14 crore to stand at ₹5,89,846.48 crore.

Top 10 Rankings

Hindustan Unilever’s market value increased by ₹1,891.42 crore to ₹5,57,945.69 crore.

In terms of ranking, Reliance Industries retained the top spot, followed by:
