Hyderabad Tractor Junction, a digital marketplace for farmers recently released a study which stated that India's tractor industry recorded sales of 49,196 units in August 2022. The sales data recorded is down nearly 31 per cent when compared on a year-on-year basis.

The top four States which contributed to 57 per cent of the overall tractor sales across the country were Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Karnataka.

Rajat Gupta, founder, Tractor Junction said, "The tractor sales in the month of August were down due to a higher base recorded last year and an uneven spread of the monsoon season. According to the IMD, major regions across the country will receive normal to above normal rainfall in September, this augurs well for the farm sector, volumes of tractors, and other farm equipment. This coupled with the festive season demand will help recover sales in the remaining month of the year."

Among tractor companies, M&M reported the highest sales in August, followed by Swaraj Tractor, Massey Ferguson, Sonalika Tractor, Escorts, John Deere, and Eicher Motor.
