Higher windfall tax on crude oil kicks in as prices soar to $95 a barrel
Crude oil futures declined 1.29 per cent to Rs7,373 per barrel as participants trimmed their positions on low demand. On MCX, crude oil for September delivery fell Rs96 or 1.29 per cent to Rs7,373 per barrel with a business volume of 6,959 lots. Globally, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil was trading 1.40 per cent lower at $88.42 per barrel, while Brent crude was marginally up at $92.03 per barrel in New York.
