Brent crude trading at $77.91/bbl

Crude oil prices rose Rs16 to Rs6,127 per barrel in futures trade as participants widened their positions following a firm spot demand.On MCX, crude oil for June delivery traded higher by Rs16 or 0.26 per cent to Rs6,127 per barrel in 7,668 lots. Analysts said the raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade. Globally, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil was up by 0.66 per cent to $73.85 per barrel, and Brent crude went 0.57 per cent higher at $77.91 per barrel in New York.
