Hyderabad The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) announced that it will be holding, Urban Infrastructure Summit on September 14, 2023 at ITC Kakatiya in Hyderabad. The event will focus on “building sustainable cities,” and will offer a platform to deliberate on strategies, innovations and shaping India’s urban infrastructure landscape. K T Rama Rao, Telangana Minister for Information Technology, Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) has been invited to inaugurate the Summit. Discussions on innovative infrastructure projects, technology-driven solutions, community engagement, policy frameworks, and investment opportunities, are expected to take place at the event

ASSOCHAM in a statement said, by 2050, an estimated seven out of 10 people will likely live in urban areas. Cities are considered as drivers of economic growth and contribute more than 80 per cent of global GDP. However, they also account for more than 70 per cent of global greenhouse gas emissions. If well-planned and managed, urban development can be sustainable and can generate inclusive prosperity.
