Zinc futures rise on increased participation

New Delhi: Zinc prices rose 40 paise to Rs 283.65 per kilogram in futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. Zinc contracts for October delivery traded higher 0.14 per cent in a business turnover of 1,448 lots. Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
Aluminium futures fall on low bets
Aluminium prices slipped Rs 1.15 to Rs 261.65 per kilogram in the futures trade as participants trimmed their positions on a weak trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in October fell 0.44 per cent in 1,033 lots.
Copper futures gain on higher demand
Copper futures rose 0.21 per cent to Rs 921.45 per kilogram due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for October delivery grew Rs 1.95 or 0.21 per cent to Rs 921.45 per kg in a business turnover of 3,079 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
