New Delhi: Zinc prices rose 65 paise to Rs 278.55 per kilogram in futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. Zinc contracts for October delivery traded higher 0.23 per cent in a business turnover of 769 lots. Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.

Aluminium futures up on positive trend

Aluminium prices rose 25 paise to Rs 257.20 per kilogram in the futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in October increased 0.1 per cent in 547 lots.

Copper futures gain on fresh bets

Copper futures rose 0.1 per cent to Rs 908.20 per kilogram due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for October delivery grew 0.1 per cent in a business turnover of 1,910 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
