Premium petrol hiked `2+ amid crude surge

New Delhi: State-run oil marketing companies Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited on Friday raised prices of premium petrol by over Rs2 per litre and bulk (industrial) diesel by about Rs22, tracking a sharp surge in global crude oil prices amid escalating Israel-Iran conflict 2026.

In Delhi, 95-octane premium petrol now costs Rs101.89 per litre, up from Rs99.89. Branded fuels such as XP95 and Power petrol saw hikes of Rs2.09–Rs2.35 per litre. Bulk diesel rates jumped from Rs87.67 to Rs109.59 per litre.

However, retail prices of normal petrol and diesel remain unchanged at Rs94.77 and Rs87.67 per litre, respectively, offering relief to consumers. Officials said premium fuels account for just 2–4 per cent of total petrol sales, limiting the broader
