The Hyderabad gold market experienced strong activity again, with price hikes that were noticeable even in the lowest category. The rate of 24-karat gold today reached Rs 13,277 per gram which is Rs 333 more than yesterday. The price of 22-karat gold went up by Rs 305 to Rs 12,170 per gram, while that of 18-karat gold advanced by Rs 250 to Rs 9,958 per gram.
The recent hike in prices is an upward reflection of the international market trends. The gold rates in Hyderabad are not only dependent on local demand and supply but also on the international bullion market, like the other Indian cities. These factors are global inflation, central bank purchases and market their rates, and overall investor sentiment. With the festive days coming closer, the combination of local buying and global cues has been the reason for traders to say that the demand has pushed the rates up.
On Thursday, the gold rate for 24 carats stood at Rs 12,944 per gram, which implies a daily hike of Rs 333. The price of the 22 carats moved from Rs 11,865 to Rs 12,170, while that of the 18 carats went up from Rs 9,708 to Rs 9,958 per gram. In total, the current price of 10 grams of 24K gold is Rs 1,32,770, while 22K and 18K gold 10 grams are sold at Rs 1,21,700 and Rs 99,580 respectively. The ridiculous rates like GST and TCS aren't included and the local jewellers’ prices can variance slightly.
The gold market in Hyderabad has been continuously climbing up since the beginning of October. Prices of the 24K gold have gradually gone up from Rs 12,393 per gram on October 8 to today’s Rs 13,277 in the last ten days. The same is the case with 22K gold, which was selling at Rs 11,360 per gram earlier in the month and is now at Rs 12,170.
If we review the total performance for October, gold has already crossed the 8.5 percent increase mark by far. The price of 24K gold was about Rs 11,924 per gram and 22K gold at Rs 10,930 per gram on October 1. The prices were lowest this month on October 3 with 24K and 22K gold trading at Rs 11,853 and Rs 10,865 respectively. The peak was on October 15 when Rs 12,944 for 24K and Rs 11,865 for 22K were recorded.
In the long run, gold in Hyderabad has steadily appreciated. The 10-day average for 24K gold is approximately Rs 12,640 per gram, while the 30-day average is around Rs 11,958. Over a year, prices have increased from about Rs 9,345 per gram, showing the steady development and investor trust in the precious yellow metal.
Short-term market analysts foresee gold prices to remain strong, thanks to global uncertainties and festive season shopping.
