Brent crude trade higher at $61.25/bbl

Crude oil prices rose Rs 2 to Rs 5,184 per barrel in futures trade as participants increased their positions following firm spot demand.

Crude oil for January delivery traded higher by Rs 2 or 0.04 per cent at Rs 5,184 per barrel in 18,458 lots. Analysts said the rise of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude was trad-ing 1 per cent higher at $ 57.31 per barrel, while Brent crude rose 1.01 per cent to $ 61.25 per barrel in New York.
