Brent crude leap 7.59% to $102.43/bbl

Crude oil prices rose by Rs 494 to Rs 8,994 per barrel in futures trade, as participants increased their positions following a firm spot demand.

Crude oil for May delivery traded higher by Rs 494 or 5.81 per cent at Rs 8,994 per barrel in 7,749 lots. Analysts said the rise of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude was trading 7.83 per cent higher at $104.13 per barrel, while Brent crude rose 7.59 per cent to $102.43 per barrel in New York.
