Commodity Watch:Zinc futures ease on weak demand

New Delhi: Zinc prices on Wednesday fell 50 paise to Rs 320.15 per kg in futures trade as speculators reduced their exposure, tracking negative cues from the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for May delivery slipped by 50 paise, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 320.15 per kilogram in a business turnover of 95 lots.
Aluminium futures fall on low demand
Aluminium prices dropped 80 paise to Rs 351.80 per kg in the futures trade on Wednesday as participants trimmed their positions amid a weak trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in May fell by 80 paise, or 0.23 per cent, to Rs 351.80 per kg in 168 lots.
Copper futures gain on higher spot demand
Copper futures rose by Rs 2.40 to Rs 1,182.20 per kg on Wednesday due to higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for May delivery grew by Rs 2.40, or 0.2 per cent, to Rs 1,182.20 per kilogram in a business turnover of 492 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
