Commodity Watch: Zinc futures rise on increased turnover

New Delhi: Zinc prices rose Rs 1.10 to Rs 328.55 per kg in futures trade as traders stayed on the sidelines amid a lack of fresh triggers. Zinc contracts for March delivery edged up 0.34 per cent in a turnover of 155 lots. Traders attributed the slight rise in zinc futures to limited buying at lower levels, even as a lack of fresh triggers kept overall sentiment cautious.
Copper futures gain on spot demand
Copper futures rose by Rs 40.25 to Rs 1,286 per kg due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for March delivery grew 3.23 per cent in a business turnover of 1,294 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets
Aluminium prices rose nearly 1.19 per cent to Rs 318.70 per kg in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in March increased by Rs 3.75 in 74 lots.
