Commodity Watch: Zinc futures rise on increased turnover

New Delhi: Zinc prices rose 25 paise to Rs 303.40 per kilogram in futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. Zinc contracts for January delivery traded higher by 0.08 per cent in a business turnover of 1,756 lots. Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.

Copper futures gain on spot demand

Copper futures rose 0.6 per cent to Rs 1,123.60 per kilogram due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for January delivery grew Rs 6.65 in a business turnover of 5,071 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.

Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets

Aluminium prices rose 80 paise to Rs 283.85 per kilogram in the futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in January increased 0.28 per cent in 1,529 lots.
