Commodity Watch: Zinc futures on higher participation

New Delhi: Zinc prices rose Rs 2 to Rs 305 per kilogram in futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. Zinc contracts for January delivery traded 0.66 per cent higher in a business turnover of 626 lots. Marketmen said the widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries, kept zinc prices higher in the futures trade.
Copper futures gain on spot demand
Copper futures rose 0.54 per cent to Rs 1,060.80 per kilogram due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for January delivery grew Rs 5.70 in a business turnover of 1,373 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets
Aluminium prices rose Rs 2.10 to Rs 278.25 per kilogram in the futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in January increased 0.76 per cent in 2,988 lots.
