Commodity Watch: Zinc futures ease on trimmed positions

New Delhi: Zinc prices fell 55 paise to Rs 326.60 per kg in futures trade as speculators reduced their exposure, tracking negative cues from the spot market. Zinc contracts for April delivery slipped 0.17 per cent kilogram in a business turnover of 78 lots. Analysts said the trimming of positions by participants weighed on zinc prices.
Copper futures gain on higher demand
Copper futures rose by Rs 2.60 to Rs 1,204.35 per kg due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for April delivery grew 0.22 per cent in 249 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets
Aluminium prices rose nearly 0.58 per cent to Rs 349.40 per kg in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. The price of aluminium for delivery increased Rs 2 in 105 lots.
