New Delhi: Zinc prices fell 65 paise to Rs 327.95 per kg in futures trade as speculators reduced their exposure, tracking negative cues from the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Ex-change, zinc contracts for March delivery slipped by 65 paise, or 0.2 per cent, to Rs 327.95 per kilogram in a business turnover of 93 lots. Analysts said the trimming of positions by partici-pants mainly weighed on prices.

Copper futures gain on spot demand

Copper futures rose by Rs 2.60 to Rs 1,240.15 per kg on Friday due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for March delivery grew 0.21 per cent in a business turnover of 968 lots. Ana-lysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.

Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets

Aluminium prices rose nearly 0.26 per cent to Rs 312.05 per kg in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in March increased by 80 paise in 93 lots.
