Commodity Watch: Zinc futures advance on higher participation

New Delhi: Zinc prices rose slightly by Rs 3.50 to Rs 313.60 per kg in futures trade as traders stayed on the sidelines amid a lack of fresh triggers. Zinc contracts for February delivery edged up by 1.13 per cent in a business turnover of 725 lots. Traders attributed the slight rise in zinc futures to limited buying at lower levels, even as a lack of fresh triggers kept overall sentiment cautious.
Copper futures gain on spot demand
Copper futures rose by Rs 19.05 to Rs 1,350.80 per kg due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for February delivery grew marginally by 1.43 per cent in a business turnover of 2,223 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
