Commodity Watch: Zinc futures advance on high turnover

New Delhi: Zinc prices rose slightly by Rs 2.55 to Rs 310.70 per kg in futures trade as traders stayed on the sidelines amid a lack of fresh triggers. Zinc contracts for February delivery edged up by 0.83 per cent in a turnover of 1,425 lots. Traders attributed the slight rise in zinc futures to limited buying at lower levels, even as a lack of fresh triggers kept overall sentiment cautious.
Copper futures climb on spot demand
Copper futures rose by Rs 9.30 to Rs 1,294.20 per kg on Friday due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for February delivery grew marginally by Rs 9.30, or 0.72 per cent, to Rs 1,294.20 per kilogram in a business turnover of 5,928 lots.
Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets
Aluminium prices rose by nearly 1.22 per cent to Rs 314.80 per kg in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in February increased by Rs 3.80 in 1,443 lots.
