Commodity Watch: Copper futures rise nearly 1% on firm cues

New Delhi: Copper prices rose nearly 1 per cent to Rs 1,304.55 per kg in the futures trade, tracking strong trends in the global markets amid persistent supply concerns. Copper futures for January delivery rose Rs 12.05, or 0.93 per cent in a business turnover of 13,816 lots. Similarly, the February contract for the red metal increased by Rs 11.20, or 0.85 per cent, to Rs 1,322.45 per kg in 4,392 lots.
Zinc futures climb on high demand
Zinc prices on Friday rose Rs 1.50 to Rs 309.55 per kg in futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. Zinc contracts for January delivery traded higher by Rs 1.50, or 0.49 per cent, to Rs 309.55 per kilogram in a business turnover of 5,493 lots.
Aluminium futures up on fresh bets
Aluminium prices rose by nearly 2 per cent to Rs 302.80 per kg in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in January increased by Rs 5.50, or 1.85 per cent in 4,296 lots.
