Commodity Watch: Copper futures gain on higher spot demand

New Delhi: Copper futures rose by Rs 10.45 to Rs 1,282.65 per kg on Monday due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for March delivery grew 0.82 per cent in a business turnover of 590 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
Zinc futures rise on high demand
Zinc prices rose 85 paise to Rs 329.50 per kg in futures trade as traders stayed on the sidelines amid a lack of fresh triggers. Zinc contracts for March delivery edged up 0.26 per cent in 89 lots. Traders attributed the slight rise in zinc futures to limited buying at lower levels.
Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets
Aluminium prices rose nearly 0.71 per cent to Rs 318.75 per kg in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in March increased by Rs 2.25 in 107 lots.
