Commodity Watch: Copper Futures Gain On Higher Demand

New Delhi: Copper futures rose 0.56 per cent to Rs 879.45 per kilogram on Wednesday due to higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for July delivery grew by Rs 4.90 or 0.56 per cent to Rs 879.45 per kg in a business turnover of 988 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets
Aluminium prices on Wednesday rose Rs 2.05 to Rs 242.55 per kilogram in the futures market as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in July increased Rs 2.05 or 0.85 per cent to Rs 242.55 per kg in 415 lots.
Zinc futures rise on positive trend
Zinc prices on Wednesday increased Rs 1.85 to Rs 258.05 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for July delivery grew by Rs 1.85 or 0.72 per cent at Rs 258.05 per kg with a business turnover of 301 lots.
