Commodity Watch: Copper Futures Gain On Higher Demand

New Delhi: Copper futures on Tuesday rose 0.2 per cent to Rs 856.05 per kilogram on the back of higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for May delivery grew Rs 1.70 or 0.2 per cent to Rs 856.05 per kg in a business turnover of 7,549 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
Aluminium futures rise on fresh positions
Aluminium prices on Tuesday rose 45 paise to Rs 235 per kilogram in the futures market as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in May increased 45 paise or 0.19 per cent to Rs 235 per kg in 5,012 lots.
Zinc futures climb on increased bets
Zinc prices on Tuesday grew Rs 1.25 to Rs 252.10 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for May delivery traded higher by Rs 1.25 or 0.5 per cent at Rs 252.10 per kg with a business turnover of 2,778 lots.
