Commodity Watch: Copper Futures Decline On Weak Trend

New Delhi: Copper futures on Thursday slipped 0.25 per cent to Rs 855.90 per kilogram as participants reduced their positions amid muted demand in the domestic market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for May delivery eased by Rs 2.75 or 0.25 per cent to Rs 855.90 per kilogram in a business turnover of 6,531 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
Aluminium futures fall on low demand
Aluminium prices on Thursday declined marginally to Rs 236.25 per kilogram in the futures market as participants trimmed their positions on a weak trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in May fell marginally 5 paise or 0.02 per cent to Rs 236.25 per kg in 4,197 lots. Analysts said cutting down of positions by participants on easing demand from consuming industries mainly kept aluminium prices lower.
