Commodity Watch: Copper futures decline on trimmed positions

New Delhi: Copper futures on Tuesday fell Rs 6.40 to Rs 1,271.50 per kilogram as participants reduced their positions amid muted demand in the domestic market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper futures for the March contract eased 0.5 per cent in a business turnover of 333 lots. Analysts attributed the decline in copper prices to lower bets by participants.
Zinc futures ease on weak demand
Zinc prices fell 45 paise to Rs 327.70 per kg in futures trade as speculators reduced their exposure, tracking negative cues from the spot market. zinc contracts for March delivery slipped by 45 paise, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 327.70 per kilogram in a business turnover of 89 lots.
Aluminium futures fall on low bets
Aluminium prices dropped by Rs 1.20 to Rs 314.55 per kg in the futures trade as participants trimmed their positions amid a weak trend in spot markets. Aluminium for delivery in March fell by 0.38 per cent in 177 lots.
