Commodity Watch: Copper futures decline on reduced positions

New Delhi: Copper futures fell Rs 20.50 to Rs 1,287.85 per kilogram as participants reduced their positions amid muted demand in the domestic market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper futures for the February contract eased by Rs 20.50 or 1.57 per cent to Rs 1,287.85 per kilogram in a business turnover of 10,570 lots. Analysts attributed the decline in copper prices to lower bets by participants.
Zinc futures slip on weaker demand
Zinc prices fell Rs 1.05 to Rs 313.55 per kg in futures trade as speculators reduced their exposure, tracking negative cues from the spot market. Zinc contracts for February delivery slipped by Rs 1.05, or 0.33 per cent, to Rs 313.55 per kilogram in a business turnover of 3,524 lots.
Aluminium futures fall on low bets
Aluminium prices on Thursday slipped by Rs 1.85 to Rs 316.25 per kilogram in the futures trade as participants trimmed their positions on a weak trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in February fell Rs 1.85 or 0.58 per cent to Rs 316.25 per kg in 3,530 lots.
