Commodity Watch: Copper futures climb on increased turnover

New Delhi: Copper futures marginally rose by Rs 2 to Rs 1,334.95 per kg due to higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for February delivery grew marginally by Rs 2, or 0.15 per cent, to Rs 1,334.95 per kilogram in a business turnover of 6,326 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
Aluminium futures fall on low demand
Aluminium prices slipped by 20 paise to Rs 321.75 per kilogram in the futures trade as participants trimmed their positions on a weak trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in February fell 0.06 per cent in 2,497 lots.
Zinc futures rise on higher bets
Zinc prices rose slightly by Rs 1.10 to Rs 314.85 per kg in futures trade as traders stayed on the sidelines amid a lack of fresh triggers. Zinc contracts for February delivery edged up by 0.35 per cent in a business turnover of 1,931 lots. Traders attributed the uptick in zinc futures to limited buying at lower levels.
