Commodity Watch: Copper futures advanced on higher demand

New Delhi: Copper futures rose Rs 5.45 to Rs 1202.70 per kg on Tuesday due to higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for March delivery grew Rs 5.45, or 0.46 per cent, to Rs 1,202.70 per kilogram in a business turnover of 13,539 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
Aluminium futures rise on fresh positions
Aluminium prices rose nearly 0.1 per cent to Rs 312.05 per kg in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in March increased 30 paise in 3,807 lots. Analysts said fresh positions created by traders supported aluminium prices in the futures market.
Zinc futures rise on high bets
Zinc prices rose Rs 2.80 to Rs 329 per kg in futures trade as traders resorted to cautious buying amid a lack of fresh triggers. Zinc contracts for March delivery edged up 0.86 per cent in 3,728 lots. Traders attributed the rise in zinc futures to limited buying at lower levels.
