Commodity Watch: Aluminium futures rise on fresh positions

New Delhi: Aluminium prices rose nearly 1.47 per cent to Rs 338.50 per kg in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market.
The price of aluminium for delivery in April increased Rs 4.90 in 194 lots. Analysts said fresh positions created by traders amid demand from consuming industries supported aluminium prices in the futures market.
Zinc futures gain on higher demand
Zinc prices rose marginally by Rs 1.40 to Rs 331.45 per kg in futures trade due to higher spot demand. Zinc contracts for April delivery edged up 0.42 per cent in a turnover of 111 lots. Traders attributed the rise in zinc futures to higher bets by participants.
