Commodity Watch: Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets

New Delhi: Aluminium prices on Monday rose nearly 2.61 per cent to Rs 350 per kg in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the price of aluminium for delivery in May increased by Rs 8.90, or 2.61 per cent, to Rs 350 per kilogram in 48 lots.
Zinc futures rise on high demand
Zinc prices on Monday rose marginally by Rs 2.25 to Rs 317.60 per kg in futures trade due to higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for April delivery edged up Rs 2.25, or 0.71 per cent, to Rs 317.60 per kg with a business turnover of 771 lots.
Copper futures gain on higher spot demand
Copper futures rose by Rs 4.10 to Rs 1,171.80 per kg on Monday due to higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for May delivery grew by Rs 4.10, or 0.35 per cent, to Rs 1,171.80 per kilogram in a business turnover of 177 lots.
