Commodity Watch: Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets

New Delhi: Aluminium prices rose Rs 2.20 to Rs 273.25 per kilogram in the futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market.
Aluminium for delivery in November increased 0.81 per cent in 4,015 lots. Fresh positions created by traders amid demand from consuming industries supported aluminium prices.
Zinc futures rise on high demand
Zinc prices rose Rs 1.50 to Rs 301.85 per kilogram in futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. Zinc contracts for November delivery traded 0.5 per cent higher in a turnover of 2,613 lots.
The widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries, kept zinc prices higher.
Copper futures gain on higher spot demand
Copper futures rose 0.87 per cent to Rs 1,017.85 per kilogram due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for November delivery grew Rs 8.75 in a turnover of 8,168 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
