Commodity Watch: Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets

New Delhi: Aluminium prices rose Rs 1.70 to Rs 271 per kilogram in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in November increased 0.63 per cent in 2,396 lots.

Zinc futures rise on high demand

Zinc prices rose Rs 1.95 to Rs 298.25 per kilogram in futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. Zinc contracts for November delivery traded higher by 0.66 per cent in a business turnover of 1,967 lots. Widening of positions by participants, following a pick-up in demand from consuming industries, kept zinc prices higher.

Copper futures gain on higher spot demand

Copper futures rose 1.04 per cent to Rs 1,013.05 per kilogram due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for November delivery grew Rs 10.40 in a turnover of 7,618 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
