Commodity Watch: Aluminium futures climb on fresh positions

New Delhi: Aluminium prices edged up by Rs 1.30 to Rs 333 per kg in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. Aluminium prices for delivery in April increased by 0.39 per cent in 456 lots. Analysts said fresh positions created by traders amid demand from consuming industries supported aluminium prices.

Copper futures gain on spot demand

Copper futures rose by Rs 1.95 to Rs 1,129.50 per kg due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for April delivery grew 0.17 per cent in a business turnover of 2,387 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.

Zinc futures ease on weak trend

Zinc prices fell to Rs 307 per kg in futures trade as speculators reduced their exposure, tracking negative cues from the spot market. Zinc contracts for April delivery slipped by 5 paise in a business turnover of 480 lots.
